Writing Through Writer's Block

I'm not going to lie, freaks. I've struggled with a bout of writer's block the last few weeks. There is so much going on in the world and bitcoin's place in it right now that it has proven hard to focus in on a topic, sit down at my computer, and knock out a Bent. Everything is condensing into a single point of incredible density that is set to explode and open up a number of different paths we may or may not find ourselves on in the future.

War is escalating. Government debts are increasing. Political vitriol is hitting a crescendo. People are on edge. The stress is palpable. I can feel it. I'm sure you can feel it. This is what seems to be the collective shared experience that connects everyone in late October 2024.

But, for whatever reason, despite the fact that all of this is going on right now, I can't help but feel incredibly optimistic about the future. As the chaos increases, the speed at which we barrel forward is forcing those in power to react at a pace that matches the increase of insanity. And as they respond it is becoming increasingly clear that they are ill equipped to lead during this tectonic shift for humanity. Every day more people are becoming aware of the fact that the Emperor wears no clothes.

The media is trying to prop up a presidential candidate that cannot answer simple yes or no questions. It has become abundantly clear that Kamala Harris is even more of a puppet than her predecessor. She is nothing more than a skin suit with an embedded cackle track that is simply expected to read the script of the day that is put in front of her by the regime that is actually running things from behind the scenes. The regime's response to a groundswell of support for a coalition made up of Donald Trump, JD Vance, RFK Jr., Tulsi Gabbard and others has been an embarrassing display of schoolyard tactics. The discourse has been reduced to literally calling the opponent Hitler.

While this is concerning, it seems like more people are waking up to these tactics and how toothless they are. The marginal return on the regime's propaganda has officially entered negative marginal return territory. People aren't buying their bullshit anymore. It's time for a change, the type of change we have been talking about in this newsletter and a critical mass of people are beginning to realize this. This is a very good thing.

To make things better, it is becoming clear that bitcoin is going to play a massive role in the transition to a better future. Nothing makes this clearer than the outcry from the European Central Bank and the Minneapolis Federal Reserve over the last two weeks. Both central banks came out with research papers that attempted to besmirch bitcoin and those of us who use it.

The ECB economists said that Satoshi's vision was bitcoin as a pure payments system that has devolved into a speculative scarce asset that will possibly go to $10,000,000 but could also blow up. People that hold bitcoin are set to benefit from its price appreciation while everyone else who is on the sidelines will get left behind. The ECB recommends that those without bitcoin should push to make bitcoin illegal in their countries so that the "speculators" don't benefit at the detriment of the nocoiners.

The Minneapolis Fed took a bit of a different route and went full dystopian nightmare by recognizing the merits of bitcoin as a scarce asset running on a distributed network and saying that they should make it illegal for American citizens to hold but allow the government to hold it so that they can print ungodly amounts of debt without having to worry about deficits in the long-run. Essentially saying that they should be able to run up a credit card bill in the name of American citizens. The government would benefit from bitcoin's properties but the citizens would be subjected to the debasement of the dollar.

The arguments from the two central banks highlight how out of touch the career economists are with reality, how bitcoin works and would it provides to individuals around the world. And more importantly, the fact that the papers were written in the first place highlights that the central banks are scared of bitcoin. This is a very strong signal.

They're attempting to start a fight, but unfortunately for them they are prepubescent incels walking into the ring with Godzilla. Take the white pill. We're going to win.

Time to laugh.
