Many will view the move by Governor Abbot, and now 25 other governors, as a move to undermine the union, but nothing could be further from the truth.
"There are decades where nothing happens; and there are weeks where decades happen."
This quote seems pretty applicable to what's going on in the United States of America at the current moment. The state of Texas has decided that the federal government has failed to uphold its Constitutional duty to defend the borders of the United States from invasion and has kicked the Department of Homeland Security, taken control of the border, and is actively defending it despite calls from the Biden administration to back down. As someone who lives in Texas and cares deeply about the United States as a whole I am extremely thankful that Governor Abbot took action to secure the border. Last year alone, 2.5 million illegal immigrants flooded across the border with assistance from a federal government that is supposed to protect the American people. This is not how our republic is supposed to operate and the consequences of this dereliction of duty could have dire consequences.
This sentiment seems to be pretty widespread across the country as 25 states have signaled their support for Govern Abbot's actions, with some sending troops to aid in the efforts at the border.
The mainstream media would like you to believe that Texas' actions are the product of a rogue state that is overstepping its boundaries. This couldn't be further from the truth. During the Iowa caucus last week voters were polled and illegal immigration was their number one concern despite the fact that it has become abundantly clear that the Common Man is struggling mightily from an economic perspective.
As we are in the midst of this situation, which is looking likely to be a pivotal point in the history of the United States, I think it is important to be clear that this move by Texas should be seen as an attempt to save a union of states that has been under attack. Benjamin Franklin once responded to Elizabeth Willing Powel's question: "Well, Doctor, what have we got, a republic or a monarchy?" with "A republic, if you can keep it."
Many will view the move by Governor Abbot, and now 25 other governors, as a move to undermine the union, but nothing could be further from the truth. The actions of this particular administration have actively undermined the continuity and safety of the union and the move by Texas should be seen as nothing less than an attempt to salvage the ideals that our republic was founded on. A federated network of autonomous states that are in agreement to band together and share some burdens as long as their agreement with the federal government that exists to band them together is upheld. It is very obvious and logical to say that the federal government has not been holding up its end of this agreement and the state of Texas has a constitutional right to defend itself.
Many times throughout the years that this rag has existed I have declared the Constitution utterly cucked and inconsequential considering the massive encroachment on civil liberties and the obscene amount of taxation and debasement that we experience on a day to day basis. My hope is that his move by Texas reignites the American spirit and reminds people that if they are willing to fight for their rights they can defeat a federal government that has gone mad with power.
God bless Texas. Come and take it, feds.
Final thought...
Road dogged it to and from Houston tonight. The vibe shift is well under way.
