Short and sweet rag today. Given that Wednesday's letter has received a lot of positive, and some negative, feedback, I wanted to share this lecture from Robert Higgs that dives into Warfare, Welfare and the State. What I particularly want to draw your attention to is Robert's dissection of how the state and the media apparatus manufactures and leverages fear to get what they want. There has been a meteoric onslaught of propaganda being thrust at the masses leveraging people's innate fears of an invisible virus for the last year.

There definitely are reasons to be fearful for a certain segment of our society in regards to the virus, but the amount of fear mongering that has been pumped out incessantly for the last 12-months is mainly driven by the urge to manipulate the populace into acting certain ways. Take some time today or this weekend to watch this lecture and understand how fear is leveraged by the state to attain certain goals.
