P2EP support is here.
Slowly but surely the tools available to bitcoiners are becoming more robust and adding to bitcoin's overall utility as a digital cash system. Yesterday afternoon, we were reminded of the steady progress that is being made when BTCPay Server pushed their latest release, which includes Payjoin; a coinjoin implementation that turns every spend into coinjoin.
In my opinion, this has the potential to be a MASSIVE boon for bitcoin privacy. If merchants are able to implement a P2EP (pay to end point) set up with ease, it will automatically increase the amount of transactions that are coinjoins, which in turn increases the anonymity set of the users involved and helps the network overall get closer to a threshold at which it becomes extremely hard for chain analysis companies to rely on the heuristics they use to deanonymize individuals using bitcoin.
The haters will tell you privacy on bitcoin is a lost cause. They are sorely mistaken. As I type, we are moving to implement Payjoin on our BTCPay Server to help increase the privacy of every freak that purchases merch and shoutouts from our site.
Onward!
Final thought...
I still need sleep.
Enjoy your weekend, freaks.
