Issue #1373: The Normalization of Looting

The rot of an empire is something that plays out over the course of decades and it starts at the highest levels of society. The men in power fall prey to their ability to manipulate the system in their favor and begin looting from the public on a small imperceptible scale, but over time the addiction to their power and their ability to manipulate the system snowballs into mass looting that is felt by everyone. In the United States of America we have reached the point of mass looting where it has become impossible for people to ignore.

As Frédéric Bastiat stated, "When plunder becomes a way of life for a group of men in a society, over the course of time they create for themselves a legal system that authorizes it and a moral code that glorifies it." This is exactly what has happened to the US over the course of the last 50 years. Since the early 1970s we've seen the US dollar untethered from gold, an encroaching surveillance state that completely ignores privacy rights, war crimes comitted in the name of "spreading democracy", coups against foreign elected officials by our intelligence agencies, an unconstitutional economic lockdown and coerced vaccination campaign, and woke ideology that attempts to force individuals to believe things they know to be untrue spread throughout academia and corporate boardrooms. Among a long list of other things. At their core, each of these things is mass plunder.

A plunder of your hard work in the form of debased savings.

A plunder of your privacy.

A plunder of sovereignty at the nation state level.

A plunder of bodily autonomy.

A plunder of your right to work.

This plunder has been codified into law via The Bank Secrecy Act, The Patriot Act, a number of other acts and the abuse of presidential executive orders that don't even pretend to leverage the "will of the people" via votes cast by their representatives. And people are feeling the negative consequences from the mass looting more acutely than they ever have. Despite what the BLS would like US citizens to believe, they are calling bullshit on the idea that inflation has been successfully subdued to 3.2%.

As it becomes more clear that anything the government does to combat the economic discomfort that Americans are feeling has little or negative effect on their lives they are going to throw their hands up and join in on the plunder. "If they can do it, why can't I? It's only fair." This is part of the reason that Target has seen a 120% increase in thefts in their stores across the country over the last year. The other driving force is the fact that many local governments have essentially legalized the plunder of stores. As if to throw a small bone to the plebs. "Hey I know we've stolen vast swaths of your wealth via money printing and taxation over the last five decades. We'll decriminalize looting stores of their high-fructose corn syrup, chemical concoctions, and consumerism-driven clothes to make up for it."

We find ourselves in a very fragile state in the US and it is because those at the top of the power structure have normalized plunder over the course of many decades. To fix this problem we need to take away their most effective lever when it comes to plundering US citizens and the rest of the world, the money printer. The road to a better future is a long one and it will come with a lot of turbulance, but we must begin walking down that road or else we'll wake up in the not so distant future living in a world where there is no order. Money is a tool that brings order to societies. It allows productive individuals to properly coordinate economic activity to deliver goods and services to the market that increase the quality of life for everyone. When society at large benefits from productive economic actors bringing value to the world peace and order increase.

The corruption of money has corrupted the ability for productive economic actors to coordinate efficiently and deliver necessary goods and services to the market. Having control of the money printer allows governments, central banks and those in their orbit to perturb actors from coordinating efficiently. Those in control of the money printer create money out of thin air and then allocate it as they see fit in a top-down manner without any input from the productive class and the customers they serve. The result is looting at an unfathomable scale. This is why you are constantly surveilled. This is why war is the norm. This is why they were able to lock you down. This is why they are able to indoctrinate people with bold faced lies via the schooling system. This is why they were able to quickly produce the vaccine they tried to coerce you to take.

The scale of the plunder has reached the point of undeniability and once you reach that point, those who have been plundered turn to plundering. That is where we are in America today.

Fix the money, fix the world. Bitcoin is how begin walking down the path away from the empire of plunder.

Final thought...

Morning walks with my one year old are something I cherish.
