PayPal’s popular mobile payment app, Venmo, now allows U.S. users to purchase Bitcoin through MoonPay, a platform specializing in crypto transactions. The announcement was made on Thursday, highlighting PayPal’s ongoing strategy to integrate digital assets into everyday financial activities.

According to the announcement, Venmo’s 60 million U.S. users can now use their account balance, direct bank withdrawal, or debit card to buy Bitcoin via MoonPay. This new feature, however, will not be available to users in New York and Texas due to state-specific regulations, MoonPay said.

The move to integrate Bitcoin purchases into Venmo via MoonPay comes on the heels of PayPal's broader push to bring Bitcoin access to mainstream users and businesses. In September, the company began allowing U.S. merchants to buy, hold, and sell Bitcoin from their business accounts, reflecting the increasing demand for digital assets in everyday commerce.

As Bitcoin continues to grow in adoption, this new Venmo-MoonPay integration represents another step toward making digital currency more accessible to a wider audience.
