I don't think the magnitude of this open trolling of the IMF should be understated.
Bitcoin's current level of fungibility is admittedly atrocious and may be the Achilles heel of the project at this point in time. The question of fungibility and, by extension, anonymity has been discussed since the very early days of Bitcoin.
If there is one thing to take from this article, it's that we should be happy that so many people care about privacy for all and are working on many different angles through which that can be provided to Bitcoin users.
