Banca Sella, Italy's second-oldest bank, has announced that it will begin offering Bitcoin trading services to its customers. Founded in 1886, Banca Sella is taking a major step toward integrating Bitcoin into traditional banking by facilitating Bitcoin trades for more than 1.3 million of its customers.

The bank's Bitcoin trading service will be available through its mobile banking platform, Hype, which has been a joint venture between Banca Sella Holding and Illimity Bank since 2021. The platform, already recognized as one of the most popular financial digital services in Italy, will soon allow users to buy and sell Bitcoin directly, eliminating the need for third-party exchanges.

The rollout of this new service will begin with a beta test for a select group of Hype Plus (premium) customers. The bank plans to expand access to all customers in the coming days, making it easier for Italian Bitcoin holders to manage their assets directly through their existing banking platform.

As Banca Sella becomes one of the oldest entities in Europe to adopt Bitcoin trading, this move is expected to further boost adoption across Italy. The integration of Bitcoin into a traditional banking system like Banca Sella’s represents a significant advancement in the accessibility of Bitcoin for everyday consumers.
