Bitmain Introduces Antminer S21XP at 13.5 J/TH Efficiency

Chinese hardware manufacturing giant Bitmain has announced the release of its latest mining rig, the Antminer S21XP, along with its hydro and immersion cooling models. The announcement was made during the World Digital Mining Summit held in Las Vegas.

The air-cooled Antminer S21XP model boasts a hashrate capacity of 270 terahashes per second (TH/s) and an impressive energy efficiency of 13.5 joules per terahash (J/TH). This new addition to the Antminer S21 series is a step forward in mining efficiency, as reported by TheMinerMag. Furthermore, Bitmain has also released hydro and immersion cooling versions of the product. The hydro-cooling model can reach up to 473 TH/s with an efficiency of 12 J/TH, while the immersion-cooling model offers two modes: a normal power mode with 300 TH/s at 13.5 J/TH and a high power mode with 380 TH/s at 5700 J/TH.

This product launch coincides with a period where the bitcoin hashprice, a measure of mining profitability, is just above $53 per petahash per second (PH/s). Bitmain has indicated that the S21XP would have a daily hashcost of approximately $22.68/PH/s, assuming an energy rate of $0.07 per kWh. At today's bitcoin hashprice, this could yield a gross margin of roughly 57%.

Bitmain's new product is slated for shipment starting from the fourth quarter of 2024 to the first quarter of 2025. The delay in availability suggests that miners will have to wait to take advantage of the improved efficiency.

Information about the Antminer S21XP's specifications and the new cooling models was also shared via social media posts from Hashrate Index.
